Sometimes you need to rediscover just how amazing Canada truly is and the natural magnificence of the Province of Ontario within it! On last Fall’s pandemic escape my friend Cheryl and I drove NW along the breathtaking shores of Lakes Huron and Superior…it seemed the roads and forests unfolded forever before us. The innumerable lakes never ending with great Gitchigumi clearly a freshwater sea. And the colours – angry grey waters, blazing Autumn splendour, pines evergreen, pink granite and brilliant blue skies.

It was such a feast for our senses so how could we not explore more of our great, wild backyard this fall again.

What a great autumn trip to take. So much to explore. I do find it astounding how truly vast Ontario and Canada are.

Yes! My brain has always told me go very far north, and even farther south. I have done both. Wonder exists in extreme latitudes.
So wonderful to enjoy your own backyard and to bring us these beautiful images of your fall colours. We don’t really get that where I live, one season merges into another.
I do wonder though – will we ever get to see each other’s back yards again🤔Thanks for the visit.
Now isn’t that a beautiful backyard! How wonderful to see your post .. I just love autumn and it’s magic colours 🙂 Thanks for sharing the beauty ..
Thanks Julie and great to see your posts!
Great to see you back! These are gorgeous pictures of fall beauty… which enjoyed with a wonderful friend makes it all that more special.
You are not coming up in WordPress reader so I made sure to follow you through email.
Have a beautiful weekend my friend!
Yes Fall is an amazing season as you’ve been showing beautifully too. I don’t get WP at the best of times since these days I can only access it on my iPhone…but thanks for following!
When I stopped getting post updates from you, I assumed you’d stopped blogging. But no. It’s WP up to its pesky tricks again. Let’s try again ….
Nice to hear from you – WP can get up to strange things all right…I can only access it these days on my iPhone which is limiting to say the least.
Oh, Grrrr. Still, it’s good to be back in touch.
Had a chance once to fly over the Algoma-Sault Ste Marie area once at this time of year and the whole area was ablaze in autumn colours.
Nice to hear from you Russel – we are lucky to have the amazing displays of colour that Fall brings.
My very favourite time of year, when Mother Nature delicately paints the most spectacular picture for eyes to behold. We are a little behind here in Southern Ontario but I suspect over the next few weeks, our trees will be ablaze with colour!
Completely agree about fall being my favourite season…even if it means winter is on its way.
Beautiful! As covid stalls international travel, we are are turned to see what’s right under our own noses, a stunningly beautiful country. Enjoy!
For sure Laura – we have so much to be grateful for ❤️
It seems that the two of you continue are living some of my own dreams! Don’t stop.
We do feel lucky to be out exploring and for our friendship too.
Absolutely magnificent views and such stunning autumn colours and all beautifully captured to share with those of us thousands of miles away. Thank you.
There is a different kind of beauty to this wild and rugged place in the North and one we’ve come to love. So glad you enjoy it too.
How wonderful to get out and enjoy such beautiful nature! You brought back memories of a trip I took across Canada 42 years ago. Me and my Siberian Husky, bouncing along in my little VW bug! It rates as one of my favorite trips… ever! Canada is such a beautiful country. 🇨🇦
What a great memory- made me smile at the picture. Feeling grateful to be able to get out into the wilderness and will do so for as long as we’re able.
You inspired this last post I just put up… it’s a series I started going back to that 1979 trip across Canada, Just thought you might be interested. There’s a picture of Sam, my husky and the VW bug as I described above at the end of this post:
Sorry you’re having issues with WP! Still… good to see you show up when you can.
Thoroughly enjoying your series!
wow-wow-wow, North of Superior… a glorious nostalgia trip for me, now that I live ‘way over thge other side! thnx
Some amazing places on your ‘other side’ too – glad you enjoyed though.
Gorgeous. I miss Canada.
One day we all hope we can travel freely again…for now we are grateful for what we have 💕Thanks for the visit.
