As I watch joggers run by in short sleeves and the children ride past on their bikes it’s hard to reconcile these scenes with the fact it’s Christmas Eve here in Canada.
But my Mozambican family has their Christmas lights strung up so it must be true!
Romy sends his best although neither he, nor his friends, can understand why they’re sloshing through mud on misty mornings.
The geese continue to migrate although they seem in no rush and I’m sure some of them are contemplating a fowl coup against their leaders given how mild the ‘winter’ has been so far.
Ivy however is happy no matter what as she desires ‘thrown stones more than the bones of elephants’ to paraphrase poet Dylan Thomas.
Whatever you are celebrating I hope it brings you happiness and a little peace…if this keeps up the lawn will need cutting soon!

Nice to get your comments no matter when Otto. It has been a brutal winter with record snowfall and wild temperature swings reminding us that mother earth is really annoyed at the way we’re treating her climate!
Yes, it’s suppose to get warmer, isn’t it. But then we get periode of the opposite character. Simply more weather.
We’re having mild weather too. Roses blooming in January, swathes of daffodils blooming in London. It needs to get cold for a bit before spring arrives!

It was very mild in England over Christmas, and as you must have seen on the news, they’ve had lots of flooding in the northern parts. Love your photos, especially the one of dear Ivy. Happy New Year to you. 🙂

I hope you had a wonderful, if unseasonal Christmas. We spent time flood-dodging, in that travel was difficult. But we weren’t among the unhappy numbers flooded out here in the UK. What strange weather.

I kind of like my Mozambican friends too – a country I have a soft spot for. Hope you made it out on your bike:-) My one granddaughter received a new bike for Christmas and was able to try it out straight away – how often does that happen in Canada?? Hope you holidays continued to be great too.

I find it very hard to miss the cold, but I seem to be alone in that. 🙂 I do feel for your poor horse in all that mud, though! Even in Sudbury, which I consider the FAR NORTH it’s sunny and plus 2. The snow shoes we placed under the tree for Mike and Krista unfortunately won’t be appreciated in the near future!.

A strange december indeed! We’re well on our way to record breaking rainfall here on the Pacific coast. All we can do is snuggle in, keep warm and enjoy the season whatever it throws at us!

The snow level report here is hanging around 1000 feet today, possibly dropping to 500 feet tonight. It is possible we will wake up to snow tomorrow. Weather is cool and wet this December for the most part. Daffodils are up a couple of inches though!
