Los Campesinos

Worn down by life these bronze figures in a main square in downtown San Jose, Costa Rica stand as a stark reminder of the history of working people everywhere. Why the city decided on this realistic depiction of peasants must be an interesting story and one I’d like to learn one day. They stand defiantly in front of the bank buildings – could that be a clue to their story?
